MISSION

The Lake of the Woods Prevention Coalition is dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of individuals of all ages in our community by encouraging collaboration and partnership. Our mission is to promote mental, physical, and emotional wellness while supporting a lifestyle free from substance misuse.

HOW WE

GOT HERE

The Lake of the Woods Prevention Coalition has been part of this community since 2011. What started as a grant-funded initiative to prevent underage drinking and drug use has grown into something much bigger — a lasting coalition of community members, organizations, and young people who believe that prevention works best when everyone shows up together.

Today we operate using the Communities That Care (CTC) framework, using local data to guide our work and connect our community with strategies that are proven to make a difference. We are funded by the Minnesota Department of Health..
