- Recognize positive choices made by youth and community members
- Foster a culture of health and wellness throughout Lake of the Woods County
How we got here:
The Lake of the Woods Prevention Coalition was founded in 2011 with a shared belief that prevention works best when a whole community is involved. We bring together voices from across Lake of the Woods County — schools, healthcare, law enforcement, local government, youth, parents, businesses, and more — to support people of all ages and strengthen our community.
We operate using the Communities That Care (CTC) framework, an evidence-based approach that uses local data to identify risk factors and match them with proven prevention strategies. Our work is funded by the Minnesota Department of Health.
