How we got here:
The Lake of the Woods Prevention Coalition was established when the Lake of the Woods Collaborative, School and County applied for a five year grant from the Minnesota Department of Human Services, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division, in November of 2010.
The main purpose of the grant is to prevent underage alcohol, tobacco and other drug use. The grant began the summer of 2011 and will continue through the summer of 2016.
Coalition members include persons representing many sectors of the community including: youth, parents, business, media, schools, youth-serving organizations, law enforcement, spiritual or fraternal organizations, civic and volunteer groups, healthcare professionals, local government, justice/corrections, organizations with experience or involvement in reducing abuse, the resort community and others.
